The perfect closet

I love clothes. I love the power they have. But sometimes take a little time to understand your style and especially learn what works best for you. It took a lot of time for me to get it and start wearing pieces that show off my best features instead of hiding them. So, I’m going to give some tips to help you build the perfect closet.

1. Try on Everything

For years, my mom convinced me that I couldn’t wear pencil skirts because I was too flat/straight to pull it off. Well, as a matter of fact, I can rock them very well! How did I find out? I tried on one from Zara and I loved it. Now, they are a necessity in my basic wardrobe. If you like something, just try it on; it may not fit but may also be a pleasant surprise. Don’t be afraid to try something new.

2. Mix It Up.

Are you tired of looking the same? In fashion there are no rules anymore (except the leggings, pants, crocs and uggs, but I’ll tell you about that later – just don’t wear them for going out) You can mix prints, don’t wear the same color shoes and bag. And, if you’re wearing prints, remember that prints make everything look bigger (so use them wisely).  Do you love a sequinned skirt and don’t know how to style it? Wear it with a denim shirt and it can be a great look for work. Be creative and, again, try everything on. In fashion it’s all about experimenting.

3. Start with the Basics

Every women needs to have a great pair of jeans (dark, plain, straight), one button-down white shirt with perfect fit, black pumps, beige trench coat, black t-shirt, pearls and camel flats, a little black dress (sounds cliché, but it’s true), and a grey cardigan. These are basics. When you’re in doubt, these are key pieces to make a great outfit.

4. Splurge on the Right Things

I love designer bags and shoes, but they hurt my wallet. So I decided to invest in some pieces that will last for a long time: my nude pumps, a great bag (usually black or camel), and a trench coat. They were pricey but worth it. Look in your closet, see what you need, and go for higher quality instead of quantity.

5. The Perfect Body

Are you afraid to try somethings because you’re too skinny, too fat, too curvy, too normal? The perfect body is the one you have! So love it and dress it. You want a bikini body? Put a bikini on your body. It’s simple.
